DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Financial Coordinator, FP&A OPEX to work closely with Commercial, Finance and Operations teams to support SOX controls and compliance activities to help support in building journal entries and monthly documentations for expense purposes.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist with monthly journal entries preparation and contra revenue reclasses
  • Maintain proper documentation of all month end transactions to ensure adherence with SOX requirements
  • Commit to any project-based work like project coding, reporting and meeting deadlines on any financial reporting activity
  • Ensure through audits that the right approvers are in place on reporting activities (P&Ls etc.)
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports to support overall department objectives and initiatives

OPEX Support

  • Collaborate with financial teams to reconcile cost centres, accounts, and administratively reviewing for accuracy purposes
  • Work through the data and reporting to streamline all of our information in collaboration with different financial teams (i.e. Accounts Payable etc.)
  • Address and report any errors, inconsistencies to help resolve in partnership with stakeholders
  • Support monthly Brand operating expense reviews and partner with accounting teams to ensure invoices are coded correctly
  • Preparation of monthly Free Standing Store P&L reporting and support review of operating expenses posted to the GL
  • Support on any Commercial FP&A monthly preparation of Retailer P&Ls
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Highly collaborative and ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 1-3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping or comparable industry an asset
  • Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver on commitments
  • Intermediate Excel Skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot table, SUMIFs)
  • Pursuing or completed accounting designation CPA/CA/CMA/CGA is a plus
  • Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in financial reporting/ analysis/ planning is an asset
