Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science-first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Proactive, Hands-on, and Passionate R&D Packaging Development Manager.

  • Responsible for creating and improving packaging for products, both new and existing.
  • Including initiating, exploring, and keeping updated on the newest packaging options/technologies and proactively assessing emerging packaging concepts and techniques.
  • Previous experience in an R&D environment and a minimum of 3-4 years experience in any packaging field is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, statistical analysis
    software, and additional experience with 2D/3D CAD design software including interpretation of technical drawings.
  • A degree in Packaging Engineering or a comparable degree (Chemical/Mechanical) is a strong nice to have.

    WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

    • Design and develop packaging solutions that meet product requirements using creative and scientific approaches.
    • Collaborate with R&D, Design, Quality, RA, Brand, PMO, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of packaging initiatives and requirements.
    • Identify, evaluate, and propose sustainable materials and processes, cost-improvement opportunities, and complexity reduction initiatives.
    • Work with external suppliers to design, develop, qualify, and procure packaging components for NPDs.
    • Responsible for the maintenance of packaging specification databases, including conducting measurements and statistical analysis, performance testing, and functional evaluation, and by collaborating with other R&D & Design teams as well as external supply partners.
    • Responsible for providing a preliminary packaging specification for the primary packaging to technology transfer team and QC.
    • Responsible for Initiating, exploring, and keeping updated on the newest packaging options/technologies and proactively assessing emerging packaging concepts and techniques.
    • Responsible for generating, reviewing, and safekeeping of technical IP, including but not limited to process and trial documentation, design drawings and supplier’s specifications.
    • Responsible for ordering and maintenance of new components in the lab for NPD`s and other existing projects.
    • Responsible for timely updates of R&D component library.

    • Capable of effectively managing workload, meeting project deadlines, and performing tasks in an organized manner
