WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?

We are a collective of disrupters and doers, of creatives and scientists, with a mission to reimagine the world of beauty.

Since inception, our vertically integrated structure, including our own laboratories, manufacturing, retail stores, and brand infrastructure, have enabled us to rapidly identify opportunities and deliver quality. Home to The Ordinary, NIOD, AVESTAN, and other emerging brands, our goal is to create with purpose. We were founded on the principle of doing everything that others don’t. Because normal gets you nowhere.

We are DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company.

We are growing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a strategic, people-focused HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-demand environment and brings both perspective and pragmatism to their work. This role is ideal for someone who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution, coaching leaders, strengthening HR practices, and ensuring compliance with local legislation and regional standards.

As HR Manager, you’ll act as a trusted partner, providing expert guidance to drive key people initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior HR leadership to deliver against operational priorities while shaping a strong, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

Background

  • This is a fixed-term contract running through the end of September 2027. We’re looking for someone who is fully committed to seeing through the full duration of the role and making a meaningful impact over that time.<3

Role Overview & Critical Criteria

This position requires a seasoned HR professional who can step in with confidence and credibility from day one. It goes beyond generalist responsibilities—you’ll be contributing to complex, high-impact projects that demand both strategic insight and a hands-on approach.

  • Industry Experience: A strong background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Warehouse environments is essential.
  • Resilience & Presence: This is a demanding, fast-moving setting. Success here requires emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate challenges with professionalism and resilience.
  • Operational Excellence: Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to execution are critical.
  • On-Site Commitment: This is a hub-based role, requiring full on-site presence (5 days per week).
  • Engagement Focus: Demonstrated success in driving meaningful employee engagement initiatives at the site level is a key priority.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Lead end-to-end HR support for the Nottingham distribution centre and warehouse operations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner to local leaders, translating business needs into effective people strategies and solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance across change management, employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and talent development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. L&D, Talent Acquisition, Compensation) to design and implement tailored local initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with employment legislation while aligning policies and practices with company vision, values, and global standards.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and terminations, mitigating risk in partnership with senior HR leadership and legal.
  • Drive a positive workplace culture by strengthening employee engagement, fostering inclusion, and building strong relationships with warehouse leadership.
  • Partner with managers to embed effective performance management practices, including goal setting, talent planning, and accountability frameworks.
  • Deliver and support training initiatives on key topics such as employment law, performance management, and leadership capability.
  • Identify process gaps and continuously improve HR practices, while staying current on industry trends and evolving employment regulations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Strong HR leadership profile with 5+ years’ experience in Supply Chain/Warehouse environments, supported by relevant HR/IR education (CIPD or equivalent is a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of UK/EU employment legislation, with the ability to apply it effectively in complex, fast-paced operational settings.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex employee relations cases, with strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills handled with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in coaching and mentoring, driving change management initiatives, and operating with strong business acumen, autonomy, and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
