SENIOR MANAGER, SOCIAL MEDIA - ORIGINS

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Manager, Social Media - Origins is the architect and visionary behind Origins’ social media strategy and how we show up in the social world. Reporting into Global Brand Director of Origins, you will be the lead the strategic vision, editorial direction, and execution of the brand’s global social media presence. Acting similar to an Editor-in-Chief, you will lead the creation of Origin’s social media strategy - the content, cadence, output and engagement tactics used to build brand equity and grow consumer love. You will lead a small, self-sufficient team to concept, create, shoot, and deploy Origins’ social content. Your goal is to increase cultural relevancy for Origins while building a beautiful, authentic world for the brand on social and bring the brand principles to life.

This is a hybrid role, based 3 days out of our Liberty Village, Toronto office.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 CAD.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

Strategic Social Media Leadership

  • Global Social Strategy & Native Storytelling: Develop and own the global social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging networks, translating core brand campaigns, product launches, and seasonal initiatives into platform-native storytelling.
  • Editorial Calendar Ownership & Content Balance: Establish and manage the distinct social editorial calendars for each channel, ensuring a strategic matrix of immersive storytelling, inspired visuals, educational/scientific data, and cultural participation.
  • Creative Resource & Vendor Management: Partner with and manage external creators, specialized agencies, and the internal Video Content Creator to align video strategy, streamline creative output, and pilot experimental formats.
  • Visual Production & Asset Governance: Oversee the end-to-end development of all social-first creative assets, including high-impact photography, video, motion graphics, and reactive cultural content.
  • Linguistic Alignment & Platform Copywriting: Establish a distinct, channel-right brand tone of voice across all social touchpoints, taking a hands-on approach to writing copy, drafting captions, and publishing all content.
  • Cultural Partnerships & Influencer Activation: Identify and activate emerging creators, influencers, and cultural partners who align with brand values, working in close collaboration with the internal Brand and Communications teams.
  • Performance Analytics & Insight Reporting: Track and analyze key performance metrics, continuously optimizing content based on data, and confidently present actionable insights to senior leadership.

Operational Excellence & Team Management

  • Cross-Functional Creative Integration: Drive robust daily collaboration with copywriters, designers, and the broader Creative and Communications teams to ensure social assets are visually compelling, informative, and structurally aligned with omnichannel goals.
  • Community Management & Audience Engagement: Oversee and execute daily community management, directly interacting with consumers, managing reviews, and ensuring follower comments and queries are handled with highest brand standards.
  • Team Mentorship & Paid Media Amplification: Lead and mentor the social team to foster exceptional creative output, while partnering with Paid Media teams to ensure seamless tactical alignment between organic content and paid social amplification.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • 7–10 Years of Social & Digital Experience: Extensive background in social media, digital marketing, editorial, or brand communications, ideally within the luxury, beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors (being a content creator yourself is a plus).
  • 5+ Years of Leadership & Mentorship: Proven people management experience with a natural ability to lead internal teams, inspire collaboration, and mentor rising creative talent across the organization.
  • Mastery of Strategy, Creators, & Platforms: Deep fluency across Instagram, TikTok, and the creator ecosystem, with proven experience managing external agencies, influencers, and cross-functional creative campaign launches.
  • High Taste Level & Analytical Mindset: A strong editorial instinct and exceptional visual taste level combined with an analytical mindset comfortable interpreting performance data to optimize content.
  • Agile Communication & Background: Excellent presentation skills with an entrepreneurial, proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced, culturally driven environments, backed by a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
