SENIOR SOCIAL DESIGNER – ORIGINS

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Social Designer - Origins is the lead designer on the Origins Social Media team, responsible for concepting and designing creative assets that allow the Origins story to connect with consumers on key social channels.
You will be the lead in establishing how the refined Origins aesthetic translates on social. You will be tasked with creating an elevated, engaging, and fresh aesthetic for Origins. This role is an opportunity to obsess a defined range of channels while working with a consistent cross-functional team to build the aesthetic and narrative of Origins on a daily content basis.
You will be responsible for translating the brand aesthetic into elevated social-first creative across all digital platforms. This role sits at the intersection of brand, content, and performance, ensuring every output feels consistent with Origins’ identity.
This is a hybrid, 3 days in office role, based out of our Toronto office.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,000 to $120,000.
Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
Social Design
- Concept and design social-first creative for campaigns, product launches, and always-on storytelling - inclusive of static, animated and motion
- Maintain a unique visual language that’s channel-right for Instagram, a separate one for TikTok, and other social channels deemed key for the brand
- Own master social design resources and guidelines, serving as the global point of contact for design consistency and visual standards
- Ensure all social content reflects Origins’ key storytelling pillars with a consistent aesthetic approach
- Create a unique system for scientific storytelling for Origins product innovation
- Work in close partnership with the Video Content Creator on the Social Media team to ensure that static assets align with motion
- Work with broader Design team and photographers to execute large campaign and always-on content and ensure it will work for social media needs
- Balance creative direction with performance-driven needs for each channel – leveraging data and insights where possible
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Take an active role on the Origins social media team, working closely with peers to ideate and create a content strategy & calendar
- Work closely with external content creators when needed - on storyboards, content capture, and graphic treatments
- Be a key member of the Social and Design team to brainstorm and collaborate in estabishing the Origins social media strategy and digital creative direction
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- 7+ years of experience designing specifically for social media channels or digital platforms; must have extensive experience working with social media teams
- Strong experience in digital storytelling, editorial strategy, and content publishing
- Advanced proficiency in Canva, Capcut, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma
- Exceptional visual design skills, including a strong grasp of typography, layout, color, and composition to craft bold designs.
- Proven delivery of successfully integrated, performance-driven designs and omnichannel brand campaigns.
