WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Manufacturing Production Planning Associate Co-op is responsible for assisting the Production Planning team in production planning and reporting activities at our Production Facility in Etobicoke. This is a 4-month co-op work term. This position requires candidates to be on-site, 5-days a week.
Work Term Duration: Spring 2025 - May 5, 2025 to August 22, 2025

Hourly Rate is $22.00 / hour
Responsibilities include assisting and supporting the manager in planning of plant production of finished products, assisting with third-party manufacturing (TPM) reporting under supervision, updating the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, participating in team-based problem-solving initiatives, tracking key initiatives, and providing general clerical support to the team. This role offers hands-on experience in production planning and problem-solving within a collaborative team environment.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
Assisting with Production Planning
- Support the manager in planning and organizing production schedules.
- Assist in coordinating resources and timelines to ensure smooth production operations.
- Update and maintain planning documents and systems.
TPM Reporting (Supervised)
- Assist in gathering and compiling data for Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) reports.
- Work under supervision to ensure accurate and timely reporting of TPM activities.
- Support in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and generating insights.
MRP Uploads
- Update the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, uploading Master Production Schedule in D365 MRP.
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness in system uploads.
- Assist in verifying and troubleshooting data discrepancies.
Participate in Problem-Solving Work with Team Members
- Collaborate with team members to identify and address production challenges.
- Contribute ideas and assist in implementing process improvements.
- Document findings and proposed solutions as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Tracking and reporting of Data
- Maintain records of data, including monthly production planning files used for various reports and meetings.
- Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to key initiatives.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE:
- Enrolled in a program in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain management or manufacturing
- Exceptional MS excel skills, and strong analytical and mathematical abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present data in a clear, meaningful way including key insights
- Quick learner and ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Project management skills, with ability to organize data and tasks and co-ordinate activities of team members
