WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Director, Manufacturing Operations to join our team on a full-time and permanent basis. This position will be based out of our Eastside Production Facility, located in Etobicoke, and will require candidates to be on-site 5-days a week. The Director, Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for overseeing all production operations, ensuring adherence to GMP, safety, quality and KPIs. As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, this role manages several departments in the factory including compounding, sanitation and Filling. This role will be responsible to set strategic goals, drive efficiency improvements and ensure the plant’s compliance with environmental regulations. Key duties include budget management, risk mitigation, and fostering collaboration with central support functions like HR, Finance, and Supply Chain. This position requires strong leadership to develop and manage teams, drive operational excellence and support plant growth.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • SPOC (single point of contact) of business regarding global inventory accuracy and integrity and Contributing member of Plant Leadership Team
  • Responsible for the overall production operations of Eastside Facility by ensuring focus on GMP, safety, productivity, programs, procedures and KPIs
  • Provides oversight for the operations team including Compounding, Filling, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Continuous Improvement along with a strong connection to environmental health & safety (‘EH&S’), production planning, supply chain, finance, Quality, and human resources.
  • Establish Eastside Operations strategy, build the processes to ensure the organization’s readiness to meet company objectives, and create a structure and capacity that supports the planned future growth of the business
  • Ensures plant performance and efficiencies is closely linked to company strategies and goals and Ensure the highest focus on quality and safety in all areas of operations
  • Works collaboratively as a member of the plant leadership team, providing direction and collaborating with central support departments including Finance, Quality, Production Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources, EH&S, and Facilities
  • Ensure the ongoing design, execution, and effectiveness of all controls within the role's span of control and Ensure all required documentation related to underlying reports, control performance, and review steps, is complete, accurate, and updated
  • Identify and communicate control changes as necessary to the Global Process Owner (GPO) for review and alignment. Once approved, update the control design through the quarterly Control Design Assessment process
  • Manage, train, mentor and support the optimized performance of all direct reports
  • Set clear and measurable objectives for the team; assess and support each direct report to develop their functional, interpersonal skills, with a primary focus on their individual development plans (IDP)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • 10+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required
  • Demonstrated successful experience using Lean Six Sigma principles in manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: company policies, procedures, and products; general administrative principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations, and manufacturing operations
  • Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in an unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated successful experience using Lean Six Sigma principles in manufacturing
