Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science-first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Clinical Research Senior Scientist – Preclinical Discovery – Global to join our Lab located at our Global Head Office, in Toronto <3
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Execute and optimize cellular assays and biomarker analysis using molecular techniques such as ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry under the direction of senior leadership.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and optimization of experimental protocols.
- Manage junior scientists and interns by overseeing their daily activities and ensuring adherence to project protocols.
- Provide training on laboratory techniques and ensure proper execution of experiments.
- Own and manage multiple research projects, focusing on new product formulations and efficacy testing while adhering to project deliverables and timelines
- Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Propose improvements for laboratory efficiency and processes.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and data analysis skills, contributing to project success.
- Work effectively both independently and within team settings, collaborating to achieve common goals.
- Prepare, review, and edit technical documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and study reports.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Ph.D. in molecular or cell biology or a related discipline, with 1-2 years of industry experience.
- 2+ years of management experience in an innovative laboratory environment.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, optimizing, and executing cellular assays, utilizing techniques such as primary cell tissue culture, ex vivo tissue model handling, primary cell isolation, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
- Experience managing and mentoring individuals to success.
- Ability to conceive, design, and execute hypothesis-testing experiments contributing directly to project success.
