WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Production Planning Specialist to join our Supply Chain Management Team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position will be based our of our manufacturing facility in Etobicoke, Ontario and offers a hybrid working model (3-day a week on-site, 2-days a week work-from-home).

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Supports the execution of production plans to ensure continuous inventory availability while simultaneously managing inventory holding costs and minimizing product expiry.
  • Works with the Outsourcing department to ensure third party production plans are executed and to determine contingency plans should unforeseen events occur.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on Production Planning KPI’s and provide insight on potential supply risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and build business intelligence dashboards to provide real-time insights into Production Planning and Operations.
  • Develop strategies to optimize costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis on operational lead times to enhance efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. Ensure operational lead times are reflected accurately in the ERP system to facilitate proper supply planning.
  • Lead new projects within the supply chain planning group, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the finance team to identify and validate cost-saving opportunities related to production planning and new product supply.
  • Supports new product supply planning and ensure seamless execution of new product launches.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development and Launch [PD&L] team to identify risks associated with supply chain planning initiatives.
  • Spearhead international expansion activities for production, collaborating with relevant teams to establish and optimize supply chain processes in new markets.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Designation required
  • 2+ years of production planning or equivalent experience is required
  • 2+ years of experience in an ERP environment [SAP, MS Dynamics 365]
  • Direct working knowledge of production, warehouse management, inventory control and transportation management.
  • Exceptionally strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel. Advanced Access and/ or SQL knowledge is a plus.
