DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Director, Commercial - Americas is responsible for leading the Commercial, Marketing, Communication strategy, and operational execution within the United States, Canada, and Latin America regions. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Commercial, this role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence and fostering strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders. You will lead and develop a high performing team, ensuring alignment with DECIEM’s overall objectives and deliver exceptional results in Commercial, Marketing and Communication activity management.
This is a hybrid role based out of our NYC office.
The pay range for this role is $200K – $215K USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Lead the formulation and execution of DECIEM’s Commercial strategy in the Americas region (US, Canada & LATAM), in line with the company’s goals and objectives
- Develop sales strategies and an execution plan with the Partnerships team in each region in order to meet and maximize sales and profitability and exceed agreed key performance indicators across the region
- Develop customized market strategies and plans for New Markets, by mapping distribution networks (Partnerships and Retail), identifying suitable Partnerships and setting up regional offices and/or warehouses, etc.
- Anticipate and manage risks, internal and external to the company, and develop risk mitigation plans with agility and personal accountability
- In partnership with the Global Brand team, implement a winning brand marketing and communications strategy that maximizes consumer engagement, earned media value and leverages the differentiated brand model with local relevance
- Lead regional brand service models and merchandising formats by channel; accelerate Retail and direct to consumer (Freestanding Stores and Online). Implement the omnichannel strategy and develop necessary capabilities
- Influence marketing practices and processes—both traditional and social—to execute with agility across a rapidly-evolving media environment around the world
- Develop and implement vision for in-store retail consumer experience to drive conversion, productivity, innovative digital in-store experiences and education
- Work closely with the Regional Head of Communications to adapt and leverage global strategy. Develop the investment plan to ensure alignment with global and regional priorities
- Oversee and manage the operating expense (OPEX) budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and optimizing cost efficiency across departments. In collaboration with Finance, lead and own all P&L, demand planning, and monthly sales plan assessments and revisions for the region.
- Manage, train, mentor and support the optimized performance of all direct reports and be an ambassador for the company objectives, vision, and culture. Set clear and measurable objectives for the team; assess and support each direct report to develop their functional, interpersonal skills, with a primary focus on their individual development plans (IDP).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Experience in building, managing and empowering a large team, preferably Commercial, Marketing and Communication teams
- Excellent business and financial acumen with strong analytical skills; you must have a proven track record working in a commercial (wholesale/sales) role, ideally with similar key retailers (Sephora, Ulta, etc.)
- Creative strategic thinker, with experience working in or overseeing a marketing/brand function with innate understanding of how marketing and communications plays an integral role in commercial strategy development
- Demonstrated ability to work well under sustained and constant pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
- Able to demonstrate well-developed business acumen and an understanding of how to implement/manage change
