Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder and CEO, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Head of Key Accounts, Canada and LATAM (1 year contract) who will contribute to shaping and leading the execution of a winning growth strategy for DECIEM in the home market, Canada and emerging Latin America region to grow market share and gain rank.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Act as the lead for the Canada and Latin America Key Account Management (Partnerships) team, establishing sales targets by account and by channel and overseeing ELC LATAM affiliates. All of this to be done in close collaboration and partnership with Senior Director, Markets - Americas
  • Develop robust 360° strategies to exceed both net and retail sales goals, profitability and over deliver against key performance indicators across the region. Ensure local relevancy, speed to market and executional excellence
  • Spearhead accurate forecasting (basic, NPL and Sets) with Demand Planning and monthly LE (net and retail) analysis for Canada and LATAM to ensure DECIEM achieves sales goals. Track and analyze sales performance at a granular level to identify opportunities and risks. Mitigate risk with commercial innovation initiatives. Review and revise monthly sales plans to ensure Canada and LATAM sales are on track and trending forward
  • Ensure consistent always-on programming for heroes and NPL pulling all levers to execute winning launches. Negotiate incremental secondary exposures and consistently challenge the status quo to test and learn with retailers to gain share and rank
  • Manage, mentor and develop the Partnerships team and Affiliate Teams and as needed, manage performance issues as they arise and partner with Human Resources
  • Oversee Canada and LATAM OPEX budget ensuring all programs are executed on time and within budget, communicating any variances to Finance team to ensure profitability targets are met
  • Serve as the key point of contact for Canada and LATAM retailer merchants and build strong relationships across the buying teams
  • Play a key role in the integration of the LATAM affiliates ensuring clear Ways of Working and efficient market performance and interaction with retail partners
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships among key internal cross-functional partners including but not limited to, Demand Planning, SCM, Sales and Account Planning, Brand, Education, Visual Merchandising, L&D, Communications and Digital, serving as the Head Of the Canada and LATAM Partnerships Team
  • Partner with Brand and Communications Leads to develop winning omni go to market plans that cut through and are disruptive. Ensure retail.com growth across accounts and work to ensure fit for use assets by mobilizing cross-functional teams to deliver on retailer objectives on time and within scope

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Proven track record of working in either wholesale/key account management, buying or merchandising in either the beauty, skincare or fashion industries.
  • Strong problem solver, negotiator and ability to take ownership. Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in an unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills both written and oral with the ability to work with all levels of staff and management across various departments
  • 5+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in Business Administration, Partnerships is an asset
