Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a sourcing professional to help manage vendor relations.

This 9-month contract role will be based out of our Fraser Head Office located in Toronto.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Responsible for executing sourcing strategies, sourcing initiatives and managing sourcing activities, including existing and new product development projects
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as QA, QC, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Sustainability as well as external suppliers to ensure the alignment of goals and expectations
  • Leverage market intelligence and analyze to identify opportunities and risks, including but not limited to spend analysis, commodity pricing forecasts, contract coverage analysis, etc.
  • Data collection on materials required for each new product launch, including but not limited to defining planning requirements and lead times
  • Identify options to accelerate procurement with current vendors, or if needed with alternative vendors
  • Research alternative sources and substitutes for critical items, while maintaining and improving form, function, specifications, and cost
  • Work alongside the Supply Planning and Production Scheduling teams to ensure critical dates and issues are understood and met in accordance with resource planning and project milestones
  • Participate in negotiations and manage existing agreements and ensures all related terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate
  • Participate in contract negotiations and maintain database of all documentation required by R&D, QA, QC, Regulatory, Sustainability, and Supply Chain
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and maintain resources needed to ensure an effective supply chain

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Experience with New Product Development projects and sustainability is preferred
  • In depth understanding of Project Management is preferred
  • Familiarity with material procurement in a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Post-Secondary education in Business/Chemistry/Engineering/ Logistics/ SCM or a related discipline
  • 2 + years of project management, sourcing, procurement, supply planning and/or combination of these and related fields is required
