WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Cost Accountant that will work out of our production facility in Etobicoke. This is a full-time position that requires candidates to work on-site 5 days a week.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Maintain standard costing system within MS Dynamcis 365, develop standard costs for new items and update all standard costs annually along with supporting analysis and documentation
  • Support new product development and product innovation by preparing costing analysis for new products, product changes, promotional activities along with sensitivity analysis and risks/opportunities to proposals
  • Complete month end closing procedures including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, management reports and variance analysis with comparisons to standard/budget/forecast
  • Work with manufacturing team to develop annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasts
  • Analyze asset utilization, resources allocation and outsourcing alternatives and provide insights and recommendations to support network optimization
  • Research, review and analyze key plant operations metrics and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Support manufacturing teams in the completion of root cause counter measure analysis relating to labour/material/efficiency/overhead losses
  • Perform adhoc research and analysis to support manufacturing initiatives
  • Provide financial analysis in support of capital expenditure requests including ROI/Payback Period/NPV
  • Perform SOX compliance activities and support internal and external audit engagements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Costing within a Manufacturing Environment
  • Strong understanding of Standard Costing, Variance Analysis, New Product Costing, CBA, Month End, Capex Assessment (SOX Compliance is desirable)
  • Standard costing experience in an ERP environment (Microsoft D365 experience is desirable)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field, CPA designation or working toward
