WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a full-time Production Planning Associate Manager, who will be responsible for the planning and scheduling for the Compounding department. This role leads the interactions with internal departments such as Compounding, Quality, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, to ensure planned production is executed in a timely manner.

This role will be based out of our Eastside Office at 123 Eastside Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario.

What You Will Be Doing In This Role

  • Designs, monitors, and optimizes compounding planning and scheduling processes to improve attainment, optimize yield, and reduce cost.
  • Responsible for batch planning, and analyzing Master Production Schedule to determine needed compounding production.
  • Assigns work orders for specific kettles and determines expected yield, target finish dates, and level of priority.
  • Coordinate with Business analysts in setup and testing of Deciem’s MRP system particularly related to manual process automation and BI reporting.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and releasing of production orders for the Compounding department. Oversees end-to-end scheduling of Production Orders from Creation to Release.
  • Identifies key risks and opportunities to improve on schedule adherence.
  • Maintain system data integrity for resource use. Ensure correct resource setup in the system to guide the manufacturing team in resource allocation.
  • Monitors raw materials inventory transfers to ensure compounding production orders can be released and executed on time and in full.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to determine delivery times and synchronize raw materials deliveries to ensure that inventory is available at the right time and at the right amounts.
  • Coordinate with the Quality department on raw materials disposition status to ensure bulk availability.
  • Plan validation batches for new product launches / new variants. Ensure timelines are met consistently and project completion is achieved.
  • Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels and avoid potential issues with expirations and retests.
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
  • Identifies problems that occur during compounding, including shortages and machinery malfunctions. Work with the compounding team to ensure labor remains productive by optimizing manpower allocation due to unplanned disruptions.
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing scheduling team to discuss production priorities. Advises the Manufacturing scheduling team on schedule improvements and/or deviations based on current available information.
  • Produce reports based on findings and performance of compounding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Designation required
  • 3 + years of production planning or equivalent experience is required
  • 3 + years of experience in a related leadership role, within production/manufacturing, supply chain or similar role is required
  • 3 + years of experience in an ERP environment [SAP, MS Dynamics 365]
  • Training and/or certificate in Production and Inventory Management preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented and challenging environment
  • Strong and effective leadership/coaching skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
  • Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills, time management and communication skills
